How Does Skin Needling Treatment Work?
Dermapen skin needling creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries to the skin, so this triggers the skin’s healing process, boosting the natural production of collagen and showing results almost immediately.
This treatment is non-invasive for our clients; minor itching, hives, flaking, or redness may appear during the skin healing. If symptoms persist, please call your Dermapen practitioner.
Recommendation varies from client to client, depending on the client’s needs. It could be multiple treatments between any of the following 3-12 sessions, and each session could be 2-4weeks or 6-8weeks apart, depending on the depth of the treatment. It’s best to consult with one of our specialists to alternate a procedure for your skin.
Preparing for Skin Needling in Sydney?
If you book an appointment for Dermapen, you must be prepped on clinical skin care for at least 2 weeks before Dermapen treatment. You must include Vitamin A (Retinol or above) and Vit C (Tyrosinase inhibitor) for a minimum of 2 weeks, longer for higher skin Fitzpatrick (Retinal Active, Brite Lite, Antioxidant Cocktail).

- Avoid cleansing for a minimum of 12 hours post-treatment to avoid irritation and allow the Cover to recover to protect
- Avoid using makeup for 24 hours -except for Dp Dermaceuticals Cover Recover.
- Avoid the use of skin care products containing active resurfacing ingredients/exfoliation for up to
- Do not pick, squeeze or aggravate during the recovery period.
- Please avoid the following activities for up to 2 days following a Dermapen clinical procedure:
- Direct ultraviolet exposure (sun and solariums)
- Intensive cardio, exercise or gymnasium regimens.
- Excessively hot showers, baths, spas or saunas.
- Spray or self-tanning.
- Swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean.
- Tattooing, including cosmetic tattooing.
- Further clinical treatments include but are not limited to Microdermabrasion, Laser, Intense Pulsed Light, High strength chemical peels, Muscle Relaxant Injectables and Dermal Layering.
